SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The teenager who was shot Monday in Rapid City has died.

The Rapid City Police says 13-year-old Xavier White Whirlwind, of Rapid City, died at the hospital Wednesday evening.

Rapid City schools on ‘secure status’

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Wednesday afternoon, Rapid City Police put out a release asking for the public’s help in locating 16-year-old Tyrell James Yellow Thunder of Rapid City and 20-year-old Loretta Elizabeth Bettelyoun of Rapid City. They say the two are believed to be present at the time of the shooting.

Police said on Thursday that they’re still looking to speak to these two individuals. Anyone with any information about their whereabouts should contact 605-394-4134.
