ROWENA, S.D. (KELO) — A summer of fun and fundraising has come to an end at Red Rock Bar & Grill.
Bike Night at Red Rock Bar & Grill attracts hundreds of motorcycles every Wednesday during summer, but last night marked the final get-together of the season.
“We’ve had an incredibly, incredibly successful summer,” Red Rock Bar & Grill owner Mitch Runge said. “The turnouts have been better than ever, more consistent than ever. When the sun shines, they turn out strong,” Runge added.
Bike Night is wrapping up its tenth summer at Red Rock. Beyond the motorcycles and music, the event is a fundraiser for the Children’s Home Society.
“Probably in the neighborhood of $30,000, $35,000 this year,” Runge said.
“We raise a ton of money for kids,” Bike Night MC Frank Anderson said.

Frank Anderson has been the Bike Night MC for the past eight years and is a fan of Children’s Home Society.
“They impact lives not just with kids but adults, families, keep families together. They do a lot of work right here in our community and it’s one thing that everyone can get behind, and that’s helping people right here in our town,” Anderson said.
“It’s just uplifting to know people care about the kids and the families,” CHS Director of Development Rick Weber said.
Rick Weber is the director of development with CHS and appreciates what Bike Night does for the organization.
“It brings financial support, charitable support and keeps our programs going because we could never do what we do to help all the children, all the families, without charitable support, without friends,” Weber said.
Another summer is in the books, but Runge says Bike Night will be back.
“We love helping kids, kids that don’t have a choice, don’t have a voice, and that’s what’s important to us,” Runge said.
Bike Night has now raised in the neighborhood of $200,000 over the past decade. A big piece of the fundraising effort is a raffle for an Indian Challenger Motorcycle, which was given away Wednesday night.
Bike Night has officially come to a close, but Red Rock will host a bonus Bike Night next Wednesday, including live entertainment.
