SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Authorities in Codington County announced there is an active and ongoing investigation involving players on the Florence/Henry high school football team.
The Codington County Sheriff’s Office told KELOLAND News Wednesday morning there’s an investigation into players on the high school football team. The investigation and incident doesn’t involve any students from Florence.

On Wednesday afternoon, Henry School District Superintendent Todd Obele said the school learned of “incidents involving students riding one of our minibusses.”
Obele, who is also the head coach of the football team, said the information “focused on bullying/hazing actions by Henry School students.”
Obele said in a news release administrators began an investigation and reported it to law enforcement.
“We determined that there were multiple students in violation of district policy and our code of conduct for activity participants,” Obele said in a written statement. “Appropriate disciplinary action has been taken. We regret that this incident happened and want you to know that we make our students’ safety and well-being of the utmost importance.”
The Falcons football team has 25 players on the roster and competes in Class 9AA.
They are scheduled to play Hamlin at 7 p.m. Friday.
