UPDATE: Tornado confirmed in northern South Dakota

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Severe weather has been reported in northern South Dakota.

A weather spotter has confirmed that a tornado has touched down in Campbell County, 8 miles west of Mound City and 11 miles southwest of Herreid. The tornado is moving west at 20 miles per hour.

People in the Mound City area need to head to their place of safety immediately.

Hail reported as golfball-sized to tennisball-sized is expected to fall.

Another tornado was spotted near Eureka, South Dakota. If you are in that area, you are advised to seek shelter.
