Passenger smuggles sea turtle skull on plane, found with other illegal taxidermy including wolverine

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife announced it has successfully ended a 2023 investigation that found suspects in possession of various animals, including a sea turtle skull, multiple mountain lions, a wolverine, a ringtail cat, owl parts and illegally harvested deer. Investigators said they stumbled onto the suspects after hearing them openly discuss transporting a sea turtle skull from the East Coast.
