Where’d they go? Why June’s meteor showers often vanish

The June Bootids meteor shower is annually produced by debris from Comet 7P/Pons-Winnecke. The event is often not visible from the Northern Hemisphere due to the amount of daylight, moon cycle and the number of meteors that are present during the event. Sometimes the Bootids meteor shower can surprise spectators and put on a significant show as witnessed during the summer of 1998 and during the 1920s.
