PIERRE, S.D. (KELO) — Here’s a look at some of the events scheduled at the state Capitol for Wednesday, February 12, the 20th working day of the 2025 session of the South Dakota Legislature.
Senate Judiciary at 7:45 a.m. CT in room 413 considers three bills including whether to raise the age for marriage.
House Health and Human Services at 7:45 a.m. CT in room 412 considers four bills including whether to provide an exception for employers to acquire and distribute opioid antagonists that are available over the counter.
House Agriculture and Natural Resources at 7:45 a.m. CT in room 414 considers three bills and one resolution including whether to strengthen regulation of lithium mining.
Joint Committee on Appropriations at 8 a.m. CT in room 362 sets revenue estimates and considers six bills.
Senate Commerce and Energy at 10 a.m. CT in room 412 considers five bills including three regarding lottery laws.
Other committees meeting Thursday are Senate Education, Senate Agriculture and Natural Resources, and House Local Government.
The Senate and the House of Representatives convene their general floor sessions at 1 p.m. CT. The Senate debate calendar has seven Senate bills and two House bills. The House debate calendar has 15 House bills and one Senate bill. Because it’s get-away day heading into a four-day weekend, it’s uncertain how long either chamber might go before adjourning.
