A look ahead at Day 29 of the 2025 legislative session

PIERRE, S.D. (KELO) — Here’s a look at some of the events scheduled at the state Capitol for Thursday, February 27, the 29th working day of the 2025 session of the South Dakota Legislature.

House Agriculture and Natural Resources at 7:45 a.m. CT in room 414 considers three bills including whether to revise protections for agricultural production facilities.

Senate Commerce and Energy at 10 a.m. CT in room 412 considers three bills including whether to regulate vapor products.

House Transportation at 10 a.m. CT in room 413 considers four bills including whether to establish an electronic system for vehicle titles.

Joint Committee on Appropriations at 10 a.m. CT in room 362 considers seven bills, including whether to reduce spending on the State Library and eliminate the State Library board.

Other committees meeting Thursday include Senate Judiciary, House Health and Human Services, Senate Education, and Senate Agriculture and Natural Resources.

The Senate and the House of Representatives convene their general floor sessions at 1 p.m. CT. The Senate debate calendar has 12 House bills and two House joint resolutions. The House debate calendar has one House bill and six Senate bills.
