SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Police in Rapid City are investigating an assault that left a person with life-threatening injuries.

The Rapid City Police Department says they were called to an apartment at 221 E. Knollwood Drive on Thursday for a report of two people who had just been assaulted with a baseball bat.

On scene, police found two people that were injured. One person had significant, life-threatening injuries while the other had serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

Police were able to determine who the suspect in the assault and the suspect was processed for evidence. The investigation into the assault is ongoing and criminal charges are pending.
