Bicyclist dies from crash in Aberdeen

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A bicyclist died after being struck by a vehicle Thursday night in Aberdeen, the South Dakota Department of Public Safety said.

The bicyclist, 65, was on the shoulder of the road on 2nd Avenue North East when it was hit by a westbound pickup driver who has been charged with DUI and possession of marijuana, the DPS said in a news release.

The pickup driver, 45, is from Aberdeen and so is the bicyclist.

The crash was reported at 9:45 p.m. Thursday.
