SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – It’s becoming an all too familiar story in many communities this year.
Very little moisture fell over the past week in KELOLAND.

With cold air in place, periods of light snow and flurries moved through KELOLAND over the past week. Any accumulation you may have had out of the flurries and light snow will melt as warmer temperatures move in for this weekend.
The flurries and light snow did very little for the drought that remains in place.
The latest drought monitor hasn’t changed much. But during the winter months, we don’t expect the needle to move much anyway.
This is a look at the week’s precipitation. Hard to register, as many stayed below a tenth of an inch. This is at a time of year when a week’s worth of precipitation is around two-tenths of an inch.
While I don’t see any major storm systems in the extended forecast, we will continue with ups and downs in the temperatures which will help lead to periods of precip over the next two weeks.
