RAPID CITY, S.D. — Monument Health is providing free sports physicals this year to ensure young athletes are in condition to participate in their chosen sport.Organizers said sports physicals don’t replace annual wellness visits or well child checks they just make sure key markers are met for safe participation in sports.

“So monument Health offers sports physicals in order to increase access to care for students and area athletes. It’s a means of contributing to the wellness of our community, but also ensuring that those athletes can participate in the sports that they want to to make sure that they can remain healthy and active,” said Jessica Daigle, Director of Ambulatory Operations, Monument Health.Several locations are offering free physicals by both walk in and calling ahead to schedule an appointment.

Monument is offering a mass event for physicals on July 19 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Monument Health Orthopedic Hospital on Hwy. 44.Walk ins are welcome or call (605) 755-CARE to schedule an appointment.
