SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Looking for a prom dress at an affordable price? A Sioux Falls organization can help.

The Blessed with a Dress event returns for its second year from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, at the Laurel Ridge Barn in rural Sioux Falls. Short dresses are $5, and long dresses cost $10. Shoes and other accessories are free.

“My sophomore year, the first year I went to prom, I realized how expensive it was, and we were like, okay, next year, we’re going to bring this to Sioux Falls,” co-founder Madison Theisen said. “That’s kind of why it was so important that we have this in Sioux Falls so people can have that opportunity.”

And that’s exactly what Theisen and Anna and Gracie Moore did. They sold around 400 dresses at last year’s sale. This Monday, they’re hoping to sell even more.

“I think we’re going to have around 1,400, which is more than double last year,” Theisen said.

Every dress you’ll find on the rack is donated for the event throughout the year.

“I hope that so many girls can find their dream dresses. And, I mean, that makes me happy. So, hopefully that’ll bring other people joy too,” Theisen said.

Organizers ask that all dresses be paid for using cash or Venmo.
