Helping people fly through the sky, with no training

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO)—When you ask someone what they wish their superpower would be, some may say super strength or invisibility. However, one Sioux Falls man is making his wish to fly a reality… for himself and others.

Flying high in the sky used to be something for only birds, then planes, and now for Trevor Hartz.

“It’s a little adventurous aviation sport where you strap a fan to your back and you sit in a little harness, and with the assistance of some fabric and a wing above your head, you take flight,” 605 Paramotor Owner and Instructor, Trevor Hartz said.

While he teaches other people how to paramotor, helping them fulfill lifelong dreams of flying, he’s decided to expand his business and help people fly without training.

“You pretty much sit in the front and this gives you the best wide open view possible as if you were flying all by yourself, except you have an instructor behind you that is very well trained and is capable of taking you and anybody else up with with us,” Trevor said.

Trevor’s wife Chelsy prefers to have her feet on the ground, but even she enjoyed her flight.

“It’s amazing, from being in a helicopter to a plane, you’re secluded by a window so you don’t get to actually feel the effects as when you’re on the tandem, you get to see your feet and everything, lift off the ground,” Chelsy Hartz said.

So I decided to try it too.

“The hand signals, if you want down, down like so, if you want to go up, go up higher. If you’re good, it’s just solid. If something’s going wrong or it’s bad, just say, Hey, let’s go ahead and land,” Trevor said.

Giving breathtaking views, and an out-of-this-world experience to others.

“Now that I have my tandem instructions, I’m hoping to bring that same joy that we have to everybody else around us,” Trevor said.

“It’s worth it. It’s worth going up. It’s worth seeing everything. It’s definitely a different view,” Chelsy said.

605 Paramotor is having discounted rides through January 1st.
