The first incarnation of the festival took place in Champaign, Illinois, and also featured Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, B.B. King, Loretta Lynn, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty. At that concert, approximately nine million dollars was raised to aid family farmers in America.
