KELOLAND continues to look for moisture

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — As we start February next weekend, we’re actually following something a little different in weather. A chance for rain and/or snow may move back into KELOLAND.

The timing for this is pointing to the end of January or the beginning of February. So we should get through much of next week warm and dry.

Fog is also on our side, as the 90-day fog theory points to the same timetable.

In the world of weather, here’s a look at my confidence level at what’s expected to happen over the next week and a half.

I do expect next week to be warm with highs in the 40s and 50s. This will happen with dry skies.

The area I am the least confident in is the rain or snow chance that’s showing up for next weekend and beyond.

And that’s because the trend has been for the cold and dry air to push systems to our south for this winter, giving areas south of us moisture. We’ll see if we can buck that trend late next week.
