SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The South Dakota DCI is issuing a Public Safety Statement following an investigation into Marijuana… possibly laced with fentanyl.

Thursday a man reported overdose symptoms after smoking marijuana.

Authorities say the marijuana had a blue-white tint to it and a chemical taste.

The man later tested positive for opioids at an emergency room.

Weekend snow piles up in South Dakota

Officials say further testing will be done to determine if Fentanyl also was included.

Authorities say the man has recovered.

The DCI did not release the exact location as the investigation is on going.
