SIOUX FALLS — United States Attorney Alison J. Ramsdell announced Wednesday that District Judge Karen E. Schreier sentenced a Mitchell man convicted of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. The sentencing took place May 30.Cory Linderman, 43, was sentenced to 23 years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release, and ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of South Dakota office. Linderman was indicted for conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance by a federal grand jury in July 2023. He pleaded guilty on March 5.

Linderman was part of a group of people who worked together to traffic approximately 100 pounds of methamphetamine throughout the Rapid City area from 2021 to 2023. Julian Fuentes was a leader of the group and coordinated shipments of methamphetamine by car from California to Rapid City. From there, the methamphetamine was distributed to sub-distributors of the group, including Linderman, Daniel Bradshaw and Travis Orr. During his involvement in the conspiracy, Linderman was responsible for distributing approximately 40 to 50 pounds of methamphetamine.The sentencing of Linderman now brings the total years sentenced in the case to more than 120 for the six defendants who have been convicted. Julian Fuentes, 37, was sentenced on April 25, 2024, to 20 years in federal prison; Daniel Bradshaw, 31, was sentenced on Aug. 12, 2024, to 14 years in federal prison; Travis Orr, 36, was sentenced on Dec. 6, 2024, to 19 years and seven months in federal prison; Alisa See, 40, was sentenced on Jan. 6 to 22 years and six months in federal prison; and Reynaldo Garcia-Gonzalez, 43, was sentenced on March 7 to 22 years and six months in federal prison.This case was investigated by the Unified Narcotics Enforcement Team (UNET). UNET is comprised of law enforcement from the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, the Rapid City Police Department, South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, the South Dakota Highway Patrol, and the South Dakota National Guard. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Hodges prosecuted the case.Linderman was immediately remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
