SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Staff from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) told KELOLAND News Wednesday that Secretary Kristi Noem was discharged from a hospital Tuesday evening.

In Washington D.C., Noem was taken to the hospital by an ambulance on Tuesday after experiencing an “allergic reaction,” according to DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin in a statement Tuesday.

“She was transported to the hospital out of an abundance of caution. She is alert and recovering,” McLaughlin said in Tuesday’s statement released to the media.
