SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — One person has been found dead after a pick-up truck fell through the ice near Lagoona Beach on Big Stone Lake in northern Minnesota.

Shortly after 9 a.m. on March 2, someone called the Big Stone County Sheriff’s Office to report the truck falling in and that no one had gotten out of the water.

Emergency crews and a dive team located a single individual in the vehicle underwater. According to the news release, they performed life saving measures, but the person was pronounced dead after being airlifted to Sanford Fargo.

The individual’s identity is being withheld until the family is notified.
