SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — This is the First Friday of the season with both live music and games in the street.
The Downtown Sioux Falls event offers more than just a good time- it brings locals and businesses together.

Shenanigans may be quiet now, but this downtown sports bar is expecting crowds Friday night.
“There’s a lot of foot traffic here. People walk around having fun, lots of kids, lots of family,” David Martinez, manager of Shenanigans, said.
It’s the first Friday in downtown Sioux Falls; live music, local eats, and neighbors getting together to celebrate what makes this community feel like home.
“We’re disconnected as people. We have phones, we have technology kind of getting in the way, and we’re just trying to get people on the street having food together and just kind of revitalizing that sort of aspect of bringing people together.” said Brandon Hanson, CEO of Downtown Sioux Falls.
A stretch of Phillips Avenue will close at 5 p.m. Friday, so people can play games, do yoga and even check out a monster truck. There will also be food trucks.
Just down the street, musicians will take the stage and The Levitt at 7 p.m.
It’s Shenanigans’ first summer downtown, and like many businesses, the staff here is excited to welcome new customers.
“We’re getting different walks of life, new crowds, new people, people all over. It’s been great for us and hopefully they have a good time here and watch some sports and have some drinks.” Martinez said.
