SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The new Department of Homeland Security advertising campaign featuring DHS Secretary Kristi Noem is budgeted for up to $200 million, according to a national report.

Global news company Semafor reported the $200 million figure after reviewing publicly available documents and separate documents provided to the news outlet.

Noem announced the “nationwide and international multimillion-dollar ad campaign” in a social media post on Monday night.

“This serves as a strong warning to criminal illegal aliens to not come to America. If they do, they will be hunted down and deported,” Noem’s post said.

According to the Semafor report, contracts were awarded to Louisiana-based People Who Think LLC and Virginia-based Safe America Media LLC. A DHS spokesman told the outlet special government employee at DHS Corey Lewandowski was not involved in the process.

Noem resigned as South Dakota Governor on Jan. 25 after the Senate confirmed her as DHS Secretary with a 59-34 vote.
