SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Sanaa Abourezk will be cooking up something special at her restaurant in downtown Sioux Falls.
“An evening you’ll never forget,” Abourezk said.
The owner of Sanaa’s Gourmet Mediterranean is auctioning off a Damascus dinner for 10 people.

“Damascus, where I’m from, is famous for its appetizers,” Abourezk said.
The meal will also include several main dishes and desserts.
“I’m giving you the whole experience if you travel all the way to old Damascus and enjoy a meal with an old Damascus chef,” Abourezk said.
The chef has already received a $2,000 bid for the meal, but the auction is open until January 31st.
All the proceeds will go to World Central Kitchen and Chicago Chefs Cook.
Both organizations are helping people impacted by the wildfires in the Los Angeles area.
“The devastation is beyond imaginable,” Abourezk said.
If you don’t want to take part in the auction, you can just stop by the restaurant and drop off a donation.
“I’ve already had people who said, ‘I cannot afford the meal,’ give me money,” Abourezk said.
Any donation, big or small, helps.
“America is the most generous country in the world, so let’s show Los Angeles how generous South Dakotans are,” Abourezk said.
To place your bid you can call the restaurant, stop by, or send Abourezk an email at [email protected].
The winning bidder can choose a meal date that works for them.
