Rounds speaks on Republican plans following election

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Senator Mike Rounds says having a republican president and a republican majority in the U.S. Senate means there’s a better chance of things getting done.

The U.S. House is still up for grabs, however, Republicans currently have the lead.

Rounds says President-elect Trump’s victory will allow Republicans to roll back some regulations.

“We have an opportunity to bring some prices down, we are going to get energy back into the mix of things, hopefully we’ll be able to produce more natural gas, more petroleum products  that’s going to help a lot , bring those supply chains back in and at the same time reassure people we are going to be able to defend the southern border that’s going to be a real important part of the messaging out there,” said Rounds.

Rounds says he will vote for John Thune in next week’s leadership vote as he runs for Majority Leader.
