ABERDEEN, S.D. (KELO) — Saul Phillips is out as the Northern State men’s basketball head coach after six seasons. The Wolves won just two games this season and finished last in the conference.
Northern finished first in the Northern Sun three times over his first four seasons but went 12-45 over the last two campaigns.
“We have not met the high expectations we have for our men’s basketball at Northern the past two seasons and a change in leadership is in the best interest of the program,” Northern State Director of Athletics Nate Davis said in a statement. “We would like to thank Saul for his leadership and contributions the past six seasons and wish the very best for him and his family in their next endeavor.”
Phillips has also made coaching stops at North Dakota State and Ohio University.
