Search for Tyler Weathersby marks 3 months

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — To put it simply the disappearance of Tyler Weathersby remains a mystery. Police say there is nothing to indicate his disappearance is connected to a crime. But the case is odd in the fact that he left behind his wallet and cell phone.

“Sometimes it gets a little creative trying to find different ways or trying to figure out different ways but we are really doing everything we can,” said police Spokesman Sam Clemens. “There’s not a whole lot of detail I can go into about what we’ve done or what we are in the process of doing but we are doing everything we can to find him.”

Weathersby was last seen walking near his home in western Sioux Falls on September 4th. This video released by police shows he appears to be calm and not under duress. Weathersby has a 9 month old baby at home with his wife

Clemens says most missing persons cases are resolved in a matter of hours or sometimes days.Weathersby has been missing for 91 days.

“The length of this thing makes it a little bit different that some of the other missing persons cases we have,” said Clemens.

Tom: Is there anything anybody out there can do who is watching?

“I think the best thing people can do is call police are call Crime Stoppers if they have information. There are times when we ask the public for help this is one of those times.”

According to Clemens even little pieces of information can lead to big breaks in an investigation like this.

“Obviously the goal is to find him hopefully he is safe and we just want to make sure he is okay,” said Clemens.
