News Headlines

SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELO) — After what may be one of the busiest weekends for events in downtown Sioux Falls, police said their preparation led to smooth sailing.

“Everything went off without a hitch,” police spokesman Sam Clemens said at Monday’s briefing.

Clemens said he spoke to the event sergeant and there were no concerns.

The Festival of Cultures started at 10:30 a.m. at the Levitt at the Falls, the Sioux Falls Pride Parade took place at 10 a.m. and protestors lined Minnesota Avenue between 6th and 8th Streets for the ‘No Kings’ protest.

“We planned for it ahead of time to make sure all these events are done successfully and are without any issues or problems and that’s what happened here,” Clemens said.

There was no police involvement with attendees or “problems,” Clemens said.
