Storm Center PM Update: Dry into Veterans Day; Rain by Tuesday Night

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — While we have indeed seen breaks in the rain now and again, it has been a rather dreary and chilly day across KELOLAND. On the plus side, a large portion of the region has seen measurable rain…especially West River.

24 hour rain totals between 4 pm CST Friday and 4 pm CST Saturday

A few more showers are possible as we head into the evening and the first part of the night. Rain will gradually taper off as we go through the later part of the night.

Outside of some lingering early morning showers to the east and southeast, Sunday is a mainly dry day for much of the region ahead of a cold front that will sweep through KELOLAND. Though the boundary is dry, it’ll kick temperatures back a little bit as we head into Veterans Day. At least we stay dry, so outdoor ceremonies should be good to go.

Our next chance for rain arrives by the middle of the week, with showers possible overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning. After that, we remain mainly dry through the rest of the week and into the first half of the weekend as well.

Colder temperatures will be rather tough to come by for a while. With a lack of cold air to our north, milder temperatures hold steady through next week and even into the week after that. Odds for above average temperatures remain favored into the tail end of the month. Keep in mind, though, that average by mid-November will be in the low to mid 40s.
