SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – An alternative to alcohol is becoming more popular around Sioux Falls. If you’ve eaten downtown or been to a grocery store you may have seen THC drinks being sold.
Williquors in Sioux Falls started carrying drinks with THC in them about a year ago but it wasn’t until last month that this section got an upgrade.
“We started with a few brands known nationally and regionally, a couple of Minnesota brands, and now it’s expanding to local. We have some breweries picking up THC options these days, and I think the category just has something for everybody,” beer manager at Williquors, Brandon Kallhoff said.
Even grocery stores like Sunshine Foods now carry THC drinks right next to the liquor section.
“You’re starting to see them pop up around town more often,” Kallhoff said.
Bibisol in downtown Sioux Falls has been offering a variety of THC drinks since it opened four months ago as an alternative to alcohol.

“When you go out, if you’re not wanting to have alcohol or if you’re not wanting to drink pop, your options are pretty limited. So we just wanted to have options for people and be more inclusive in the community and let everyone know that we have a little something for everyone,” head server at Bibisol, Arelis Hernandez said.

Hernandez says customers have been intrigued with the products.
“The feedback that we’re getting is that they are like, well, it kind of is surprising because you get this kind of a relaxed feeling, but it’s not what people are thinking when they think of having something with THC,” Hernandez said.
“Folks that have tried them downtown come in to buy some from our store afterward,” Kallhoff said.
You must be 21 or older to purchase the drinks.
Williquors also recommends you don’t drink them if you are subject to THC drug testing.
