Warmer temps have people excited for summer activities

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Sioux Falls had over 60 consecutive hours of below zero temperatures this week, which may have you itching for warmer temps.

Temperatures are finally warming up outside, but people inside the Expo Building at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds are excited for even warmer weather.

“We enjoy camping quite a bit. We have grandkids that we take with us from time to time and, and take them out fishing and stuff,” shoppers, Eileen and Arvid Kraemer said.

That’s what brought the Kraemers to the Sioux Falls RV & Boat Show.

“We enjoy always looking at the new campers and seeing how the styles have changed. And, the new features that they have. And, so that’s why we’re here today. Look at that. Even though he always gets dragged to the pontoons and stuff anyways,” Eileen said.

“We have a lot of campers on display and boats, 20, 25 models and then we have some carryover models that’s discounted. You’ll never see prices lower than that. So we’re hoping for great attendance after the cold weather we had all week,” I-29 RV Marine & Outdoor general manager, Stephan Theron said.

The show gets vendors and buyers excited for warmer days ahead.

“They can look at campers and they don’t have to be outside because it’s been so cold. Everyone’s excited for camping season. Usually we see people start getting really, ready for being outside end of February. That’s kind of why we plan to show this time of the year,” Theron said.

“After the past week where it was so cold. Seeing 40 and 50 degree weather coming really gets us more excited coming to camping shows and stuff,” Eileen said.

The Sioux Falls RV & Boat Show is free and runs through January 24.
